BRIEF HISTORY OF De AYO INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE De Ayo International College, a citadel of learning, is situated at Alakia, Old Ife Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The school was established on 14th July, 2001 and was dedicated by the then Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Ayodele Falase, Bishop Wale Oke, and His Excellency Alh. Lam Adesina, the then Oyo State Governor. The College took off from its permanent site. De Ayo International College came into full operation on 10th September, 2001 with 10 classes, which include the Science Laboratory, the Library, the Principal′s office, Proprietress office, an arm each of JSS 1 & 2. The first Parents′ Consultative Forum meeting was held on 23rd May, 2002. The Pioneer Principal of the College was Mr. J.O. Egbedeyi. Six (6) teachers started off with the school with 11 students in attendance while the school was approved by the Oyo State Government on the 15th August, 2001. The recognition inspection of the Junior School for NECO and State Examinations took place on 27th February, 2003 with a team of 15 inspectors. The school now has a growing population of over 250 students with about 24 qualified graduate teachers. Kiddies school also came into full operation on 6th September, 2010. The Nursery/Primary School was established to ensure a better foundation. The pioneer Head teacher of the Kiddies school was Mr Balogun. Seven (7) teachers started off with the school with 13 pupils in attendance. The school was dedicated to the glory of God on the 13th September, 2010. Our Kiddies school at present has over 200 pupils. De Ayo International College is established for moral and academic excellence. It is located in a serene environment that is conducive for learning. It is spacious and well ventilated with adequate facilities. The teachers are qualified, competent, experienced and committed. The school has modern and well equipped laboratories, with play way method of learning, modern and well-stocked e-library, adequate recreational facilities with instructors, homelike boarding house, first class ultimate care for your child, effective transportation among others. The School is not just an Institution but a place where an individual can fully be discovered so that his/her potentials can be optimized in order to stand out among others. The founder of the school, Dr. (Mrs.) Ayoyinka Babatunde, is a seasoned Educationist, Creative writer, Author, Publisher and a lover of all. She has used these experiences to make the school a model with experienced and disciplined teachers that have always been working together as a family to lift up De Ayo and impact their knowledge on the students to produce first class leaders that will drive the country’s socio-political economy in Nigeria and other countries of the world.
